Why you should support the movie “Precious”

Please, encourage everyone you know to SECURE their tickets through our opening and to support this film for the following reasons:

1) Precious was only released in 18 cities throughout the whole country this weekend! It is driving theatres crazy because people are calling and emailing their demands for the movie to be shown in their cities too! The movie is being “methodically” released in limited theatres each week in different cities and the theatres don’t know, when and if and then when again, they will get the movie yet they are getting demands for it. This in return, puts pressure on the buyers and corporate offices for the theatres, which brings us to #2….

2) The industry recognizes that this is a “risk taker” movie due to the content and a “money-maker” due to the content as well, the theatres know their “audiences”, it’s backed by Oprah & Tyler Perry and if you don’t answer the demand of “the audience”, it could spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E! The limited release in addition to the high demand is helping to reinforce Oscar buzz about a movie “like this” which bring us to #3…

3) So, by design, the logic is to let the “audience speak” by demanding screenings and coming out in record numbers to see this film released by a small studio with a power packed storyline, acting and support! Hence, the purpose of Delta Red Carpet events: the importance of supporting BLACKbuster movies and to encourage our communities to do so during the OPENING weekend of premieres because that’s when the numbers really count! which brings us to #4….

4) Tell everyone you know to support our Delta Red Carpet event and to see this film with us or anytime during the opening weekend -whereever it ends up playing! Collect those ticket stubs and please, give them to A&L! and finally, #5….

5) Leadership in the Gary Alumnae Chapter supported an organized “demand effort” by an individual soror and that is why the movie is being screened in Merrillville, IN! Prior to this, the closest theatre was in Chicago, IL! We can make a difference and an encourage others to do the same! Demand that the film is shown in the ‘hood to the suburbs, from small cities to large metropolitan theatres, from lavish theatres to the older ones as well during the OPENING WEEKEND-sooner than later by calling your local theatres and corporate offices EVERYWHERE!

In recognition of our initiative and this film, call 1-877-370-6824 to let the studio know that you support the screening of Precious in all theatres in your area, particularly theatres like Traders Point, Castleton, etc.(It is scheduled to be in the “urban area theatres”, as they should be as well), then GO SEE THE MOVIE because “WE are all precious” and that’s why it should play in every city and everywhere in the city!
