A critical part of the GEMS program is to introduce and engage the GEMS in cultural activities. Today, the GEMS saw a production of CROWNS at the Indiana Repertory Theater. CROWNS is a story about the important role of hats in the African-American culture.

For several years the Delta GEMS have been participating in the RTV6 Toy Drive. On this service day, the GEMS, along with other youth organizations, sort toys by age and gender. The sorted toys are eventually delivered to children in the Indianapolis area in need.
The Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter Step Team, thus far, has won $5,000, proudly used to support several Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter programs and initiatives, and endeavors.
