Spring has Sprung and it’s time to put our Purpose in Motion. Save the Date of Saturday, April 23, 2011 for our Delta/Que Day of Purpose Part 2. Those of you who had the opportunity to participate for round one did a wonderful job and I know we agree that it was a fun and rewarding experience. We will return again to Briarwood Health and Rehabilitation Center and our primary focus this time will be the maintenance of the exterior and landscaping. Sorors, it will be just exciting as it sounds. One of our targeted goals is to beautify the Courtyard with Patio furniture and accessories. Sorors, if you are someone you know has a contact with a business who would be willing to donate to this cause, please let us know. We will also be speaking with the Omegas about members of our Organizations making donations to purchase landscaping items as well. Sorors, feel free to share any ideas you might have in making this project a success. Please be on the lookout for exciting updates to this fabulous Day of Service. There will be 2 shifts, 8:45 to 11:30 and 11:30 to 2:00 with a group picture at 11:30. Allergies preventing you from working outside? I’m sure we can find something inside for you to do. Sign up sheets will be available at the April Chapter Meeting. What a great way to give back for the Easter Weekend. That evening we will be hosting the Spring edition of the Scholarship Matinee called “A White Affair” at Cloud 9 Bar and Grill from 6pm to 10pm. Tickets are now available for $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Sorors, get your tickets early. Tickets will be available at Executive Board, Chapter meeting, The Jewelry Lady (7427 N. Shadeland Ave 46250), E.M. Hughes and Associates (8078 Windham Lake Drive 46214) or any Reclamation Committee. Donations are appreciated as well.

IAC serves Indianapolis for Thanksgiving

November 21, 2009 was a very busy Day for the Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Deltas were stretched from Martin Luther King Jr. Street to North Michigan Road.  The Chapter held four events that day including the “Delta Speaks to Teens” session with Kemba Smith, the Red Carpet Event featuring the movie “Precious”, and it’s subsequent Delta Dialogue program in partnership with Light of the World Christian Church.  In the midst of that Sorors remained dedicated to servicing the senior citizens at the Springfield Health Care Center and assisting in the food pantry at the Gene B. Glick Neighborhood Center.  IAC will celebrate it’s 85 year anniversary in January 2010 as the Chapter has contributed to the Indianapolis and Central Indiana community since 1925.
